Kathryn Bigelow's multiple-Oscar-winning film is a compelling fact-based, Iraq-set bomb disposal drama, scripted by journalist Mark Boal, who drew upon his experiences while embedded with a US Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team in 2004. The film focuses on the complex characters that make up Bravo Company, who disable and destroy improvised explosive devices. The days are ticking down to the end of the bomb squad's tour, but the team are in harm's way around the clock.
